Patrice James is a widow, living with her teenage son, Lindell, who has skipped school, jeopardized his scholarships, and left home without his phone. They moved out of New York City because of racial tensions and a family tragedy. Patrice has made sacrifices to make sure they will be able to survive and fight racial injustices together.
