Cly is less than thrilled about Aggie's imminent arrival. Jonathan, the butler, and Bertha, his wife, prepare for his homecoming. Cly takes another man, Edge, to her bed and plots her own revenge. Unfortunately, the revenge backfires. If only they'd had the foresight to listen to Cass's seemingly senseless ramblings, some of the bloodshed might have been sidestepped. Gem’s search for her father leads her to an amusement park somewhere in the middle of America. When the Knott’s family vacation lands them at the same park, their worlds collide. The Knott twins are having a birthday. Because their birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year, they get to choose their gift and choose a weekend at an amusement park. Although the park is closed, the family stays to celebrate the holiday in the hotel room. This skewering of American family values and entertainment takes the twists and turns of the rides at the part. But that’s okay because each of the nine scenes in this twisted quest is interrupted by Gem, our narrator, as she explains the physics of roller coasters in malapropisms.
