Amanda Schumacher is a USA-based playwright and screenwriter.

Her work has been produced at Forward Theater in Madison, Wisconsin (Say No to the Dress, Breaking Fourth), Renaissance Theatreworks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (Smart Girls), Lumos Players in Landen, OH (But the Greatest of These Is Love), and Short + Sweet Sydney in Sydney, Australia (Smart Girls). She has studied writing for film and television at The Second City in Chicago, where she developed her original half-hour television pilot, Say No to the Dress, which went on to be a quarterfinalist for the Screencraft Screenwriting Fellowship. In 2025, she was chosen to participate in Trinacria Theatre Company's inaugural Script Transformation, a two-week writing residency in Sicily.

Because tonight, her 15-year-old son has just come out to her. Sara now must wrestle with what she's been taught vs. what she actually believes. Angry, anxious, and armed with a bottle of red and a well-loved Bible, Sara speed...
