Sam Friskey

Sam Friskey is a San Francisco-based playwright and a 2020 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Plays include Rabbit (2020 KCACTF John Cauble Award for Outstanding Short Play, 2019 Judy Lee Prize for Dramatic Writing, Penn Plays Fellow 2018-2019) and All the Dead Frogs (Oklahoma City University, Swarthmore New Play Festival, Voices of the Earth Festival at Bemidji State University). Their work has been presented or developed by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, UPenn Theatre Arts Department, Bates College Theatre Department, and The Kelly Writers House.

Synopsis

Morgan and Ian are the parents of two twin daughters, Fiona and Emma. One day, Fiona stays home from school with chicken pox, and the unimaginable (or perhaps, too easily imaginable) happens. Told non-chronologically, Rabbit asks us to consider how the death of a loved one creates absences in our every day lives.
