  • The characters & relationships are all clearly defined within the realistic dialogue and the sparse/efficient stage directions. The grief, familial teasing, sibling structure, repeated mistakes and the yearning to choose differently are all highly relatable. I found this play extremely easy and fun to read and enjoyed imagining all the possibilities the playwright allows for staging it. The characters are juicy, richly developed and flawed and sweet and funny--this play is an actor's dream!

  • This is a hilarious short play with a complete and satisfying arc. And I can personally attest it is fun to perform in front of an audience: lots of laughter!

  • A beautiful, heart-breaking play about mothers and daughters trying to break free of the cycle of poverty. Gorgeous moments witnessing the dance of the characters' inner lives, sweet and funny moments of mothers teaching rich food traditions to their daughters, and the sadness of the reality of poverty in America. I cannot recommend this play highly enough.

  • Anyone who enjoys Scooby Doo antics will enjoy this pure goofiness. And I know first hand that it's a delight to perform this play!

  • Kirsten Hopkins: PRACTICE HOUSE

Hilarious & heartbreaking in equal measure. Definitely DARK, but not without hope! It was an honor to get to play Jennie Claire in two different readings. I could see how much fun it would be as an actor to get to delve into these complex, fun, juicy roles!

  • Kirsten Hopkins: LISTEN! THE RIVER (full length)

Funny, original, sweet, and sad. A beautiful play and just a treat for actors (not to mention the audience).
