Makasha Copeland (they/them) is a playwright, actor, and comedian from the Texas Hill Country. Their full length plays have been produced at San Diego REP, Theatre Exile, Sideshow Theatre, The Agnes Nixon Festival, Scripps Ranch Theatre, Capital Repertory, Teatro Espejo, Theatre Lab FAU, and Vertigo Productions. Their play Extreme Home Makeover won the 2022 M. Elizabeth Osborn award, was a top five finalist for the Steinberg ATCA National New Play award, and won the 2019 Agnes Nixon Award. They were a two time resident artist (2020, 2021) at Ars Nova, where they co-created, wrote, and performed in two original full length comedies. As a sketch comedian and improviser, their work has been professionally produced at The Second City, Improv Olympic, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, The Asylum, and The Hideout Theatre.
