Scotto Moore wrote & directed "Balconies," "interlace [falling star]" and "Duel of the Linguist Mages" (the latter was nominated for the American Theatre Critics Association’s Steinberg New Play Award, and for a Gregory Award for outstanding playwright). He wrote book/music/lyrics for the a cappella science fiction musical, "Silhouette," which premiered at Annex Theatre in spring 2018 and won Theatre Puget Sound's outstanding new play Gregory Award. He wrote book & lyrics for the musical "A Mouse Who Knows Me" with Robertson Witmer (composer); wrote "When I Come To My Senses, I'm Alive!" (also nominated for a Gregory Award for outstanding playwright, and produced by Cayuga Community College in New York); wrote & performed in “H.P. Lovecraft: Stand-Up Comedian!” which was selected for a remount at Bumbershoot 2015; wrote & co-directed the short play collection "Star Crossed, and other tales from a devious universe"; and adapted & directed "The Principia Discordia LIVE!" - all produced by Annex Theatre. His plays for young adults, the one-act "Dimension Force" and the short play "Ways of the World," were produced by Seattle Public Theater's Youth Program. "Can't Talk Right Now," a one-act drama, premiered in 2016 with Theatre22 and was re-mounted for Bumbershoot 2016; its sequel, "Sings The Hits," was produced by Theatre22 in 2017. He has written 30 short plays for the 14/48 Festival; 6 short plays for Pacific Play Company; 2 short plays for Unexpected Productions; 2 very short plays for the One Minute Play Festival; and 1 short play for Seattle Theatre Works. The Pocket Theater produced 7 of his short plays for a Writer Showcase in October 2016; "All Out Of Second Chances" was produced in Vermont and Ohio in 2017; "Exactly What You Would Do" was produced in Chicago in 2019 and Orlando in 2016; and "Sending A Message" was produced in Islington in 2019.

    In a small, secret town on a distant planet, a group of mutineers live in hiding from an imperialist, genocidal military fleet. When a scout ship from that fleet crashes near their settlement, the mutineers are forced to consider brutal options for their survival, while the young pilot of the scout ship faces the prospect of never seeing her home again.

    The score for the play is sung entirely a cappella.

    "When I Come To My Senses, I'm Alive!" is a near-future sci-fi story about a technological provocateur who invents a method for capturing emotions as digital information, as part of a project to "chart the emotional genome." She develops a cult following of fans who download her very addictive "emoticlips" - each delivered with cryptic, poetic file names like "the surprise of an unfamiliar memory" - and play them back in hobby-built receiver helmets. The experience is not full blown virtual reality; instead, emotional responses & sensations are triggered, and each fan experiences something unique. A seedy television executive tries to coopt her technology to syndicate the emotions of TV stars, hiring an elite P.I. to figure out what her weaknesses are when she refuses to sell out... but in the meantime, publishing digital versions of her emotions to the internet has unexpected consequences amongst the botnets of the world.
