Molloy is the recipient of numerous fellowships, awards, and honors, including Radcliffe, Pew, Rockefeller, NEA, NYFA, NYSCA, and PCA Fellowships; a Creative Capitol Award; two Frederick Loewe Awards for Musical Theatre; two 1st Irish Theatre Festival Awards; the Joe Calloway Award; and the Berilla Kerr Award for Playwriting. In 2017, she received a Proclamation from the New York City Council for her “Contributions to Irish Culture.” She is an alumna of New Dramatists and has completed residencies at Yaddo, MacDowell, Millay Arts, Annaghmakerrig, Hedgebrook, the Tennessee Williams Center, and the Edward F. Albee Foundation.
A co-founder of Working Theater in 1985, Molloy served as the company's Director of Play Development, Literary Manager, and Artistic Associate. She has also worked as a Program Officer in Arts & Humanities for the Rockefeller Foundation, Auditor of Theatre & Dance for the New York State Council on the Arts, and Evaluator of Awards & Grants for the New York Foundation for the Arts. She has taught creative writing at Barnard College, the City University of New York, and Brown University, in addition to leading dozens of workshops at academic and arts institutions.
Molloy is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America, the League of Professional Theatre Women, Parity Productions, and Irish American Writers & Artists. Her debut novel SMARTY GIRL: DUBLIN SAVAGE was jointly published by Simon & Schuster and Gemma. She holds a BFA in Drama from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA in Playwriting from Brown University.
