Chris just scored a beer for his birthday at Skonk’s Bar in Salmon Falls, Ohio. In the blink of an eye, he finds himself alone on a spaceship lamenting about his missing beer. A voice attempts to ease Chris’s upset while Chris pieces together where he is. Chris is not the sharpest lightbulb in the drawer. It takes some time to realize he’s been abducted as he also discovers there’s a Butt Room and a Nowhere Room. The voice is an alien who stays hidden so as to not startle Chris with their appearance.

Chris learns the Earth has been destroyed and he is the only survivor. He mourns that he is alone and that he will no longer enjoy hamburgers or beer or the cheese fountain at Skonk’s. The alien pulled Chris from Skonk’s moments before the annihilation of the planet after determining Skonk’s to the point of origin for the destruction. The alien has the ability to access Chris’s subconscious and speak to any person that was in the bar that night. They’re also able to access Chris’s memories of people and speak to anyone Chris saw on television. The alien is trying to determine what happened and who did it.

There are twists and turns and wormholes and blackholes and inappropriate jokes a plenty. Thematically, it’s a jab at the willful ignorance of humans in the time of climate change and corruption.

Festival-friendly with easy set-up and tear down and low tech.

However, her new boyfriend, Brent, kindly helps Tobias realize that he has been a total waste of a human life. As Mary stands by, Brent and his boss, Dr. Meruda, lead Tobias toward an irreversible “solution.” The play is under 60 pages, but I think with the proper pacing it runs over an hour. I also think there's a little more development that needs to be done, especially with the character Mary. I think this is more a 75-90 minute play that should be performed without an intermission.
