Charlotte Booker

Charlotte Booker is a professional actress and writer, based mostly in New York (LA for a decade while she did her share of sitcoms). She has played major roles at dozens of regional theatres, been on Broadway twice, Off-Broadway and Off-off Broadway too many times to count, toured a lot, and appeared in don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-it roles in films.

A former Air Force brat who grew up all over the place, she graduated from Northwestern University with a BS in Performance Studies and studied acting in New York with truly great teachers--Uta Hagen, Shelley Winters, F. Murray Abraham, and Geraldine Page.

Ms. Booker has always written for herself, but only recently started putting it “out there".

Her all-female play THE BOOTHEEL was a 2021 semi-finalist at the O'Neill Playwrights Conference and the Garry Marshall New Works Project. Her current project, a solo show (with music), based on a beloved, extremely eccentric, character actress, won the Audience Favorite award at the Alvin Epstein Solo Performance Prize in 2022.

Newly-ish married to composer/writer Mark Nutter, she lives in New York City and Evanston, Illinois, when she's not in New Orleans.
