Mary London Szpara is an artist in every sense of the word. She tackles various mediums, as a playwright, published author, a painter working on canvas in oil, voice actor, and music. Although she acted on stage in high school productions, it wasn't until she worked on Theatre of the Mind shorts for radio that she began to stretch her imaginative skills. She wrote, co-wrote, acted and edited the skits that were part of a radio morning show. The skills there turned into creative writing for commercials when she opened her ad agency after leaving radio. She always like to write, but it wasn't until the death of her husband that it took on a whole new meaning. "I never thought I would be an author much less a playwright. How is it that such a devastating personal loss can bring words that may heal others? I began to journal after my husband died, and the book “The Loss World” was the end result. It was released in 2013. In 2014 it was adapted for stage as "The Loss World Monologues". It debuted June 5 & 6 2015 as an uninterrupted 80 minute one act play in Charlotte NC at McKnight Hall with a cast of 9 women to a paying audience and excellent reviews. It was like giving birth and having a rebirth of self at the same time. Working on another "child" now."
