I’m Corinna Schulenburg (she/her) and I’m an artist and activist committed to ensemble practice and social justice.I’m a white queer transgender woman, a mother, a writer, a founding Creative Partner of Flux Theatre Ensemble, and the director of communications at Theatre Communications Group. As a playwright, actor, director, and community builder, I’ve worked on over forty plays. My produced plays include Carrin Beginning, Kidding Jane, Rue, Riding the Bull, Other Bodies, Honey Fist, Jacob’s House, DEINDE, Dream Walker, Encryption, Jane the Plain, The Lesser Seductions of History, Salvage, The Sea Concerto, and Operating Systems. My plays have been produced and developed at The Lark, Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Portland Stage Company, Prospect Theater Company, Flux Theatre Ensemble, and many more. I'm a 2013-14 Lark Playwrights Workshop Fellow and was a member of the Propulsion Lab for Mission to (dit)Mars. My work has also been published in the New York Theater Review, Stage and Screen, Indie Theater Now, Midway Journal, NoPassport Press and in two issues of Carrier Pigeon.

    Pack follows Harker, a young transgender man struggling with a transition he feels has not gone far enough. He idolizes the masculinity of Bali, a YouTube personality famous for helping men upgrade their manhood. When Harker discusses suicidal thoughts to a trans friend online, he is persuaded to try an underground form of wolf testosterone (T), distributed by a mysterious trans man called the Wolf.     Pack follows Harker, a young transgender man struggling with a transition he feels has not gone far enough. He idolizes the masculinity of Bali, a YouTube personality famous for helping men upgrade their manhood. When Harker discusses suicidal thoughts to a trans friend online, he is persuaded to try an underground form of wolf testosterone (T), distributed by a mysterious trans man called the Wolf. This new T gives Harker heightened strength, speed, and sense of sight and smell, and sparks a newfound sexual attraction with his cis best friend, Harmony. But when Harker realizes the T may be turning him into a werewolf, he finds himself needing to choose between his old life and a pack of new trans wolf brothers.

    At Code Breakers, black and brown high school girls learn software engineering. When Benita is promoted to CEO, she enlists the help of a journalist friend to confront a controversy over rejecting a white student. Then Bel, a new Code Breakers employee, accuses the outgoing CEO of sexual misconduct. The fallout threatens the most vulnerable in their community, including Dani, a trans employee and former student...

    Operating Systems wrestles with how internalized oppression often makes us reinforce oppressive systems even as we work toward justice. In a tokenizing system that often positions oppressed peoples against each other, can the relationships at the heart of the play survive? Is it better to leverage the resources of these systems in service of justice, or to burn the whole thing down?

    The Sea Concerto follows Lynnie, a poet who has lost her creative voice. Now, a mysterious letter asks her to return to her childhood home to reclaim something of her father’s. Will it help explain why he gave up music? Will that answer help her write again? And can she ever forgive the betrayal that tore her family apart? At first, they use this prosthetic for the mind under strict rules of engagement, but soon noble ideals and personal passions lead a few to break the rules. AL, a visual artist who makes intricate devices out of sea detritus, is forced to return to managing the Grey Cat when her mother gets sick. AMADA, a tattoo artist who dreams of her own parlor, struggles to not party away all her money. GLORY, the privileged...
