Kia Barbee

Kia is an award winning storyteller and creative producer. Her play Roommates received a best actress award (Fresh Fruit Festival) and was nominated for a Susan Blackburn award. Her latest play, Snobs vs The Underdogs was a semi-finalist for development with Premiere Stages (NJ).
As a producer and creative consultant, Kia has worked with award winning filmmakers and writers.
She founded and produced ScriptRead, an interactive themed stage reading series to highlight other underrepresented writers. She is currently developing a comedy play inspired by The Odd Couple and writing her first novel, a supernatural tale titled, The Rebirth.

Kia is a member of the WGAE and Dramatist Guild.
