  • Liana Irvine: Pearl Dust from a Gun

Esme Marie Ng writes with dexterity and unapology. Working with Ng on this piece was a joy -- with a sense of play, studiousness, and refinement in each meeting. Over our time together, my perceptions of PEARL DUST FROM A GUN's themes grew. Some that currently stick with me are: a private family story turned public, gaze on the individual by media/press/advertisement, incarceration and collectivism/mutual aid being in conversation with one another (as demonstrated by one family).

  • Liana Irvine: Indian Princesses

Eliana knows how to write young women with whole personhoods! It is so much fun to watch these characters navigate power, identify, and white fathers.

  • Liana Irvine: Boy's Club

June 2022: This writer uses suspense, intrigue, and doubt in a deft way that makes you really consider the lines of care, exploitation, and manipulation. The juiciness of this play, makes me use this play as a model for other plays dealing with agency and consent.

  • Liana Irvine: Apparitions

What happens when someone works too hard? What happens when that work clings like a ghost? What happens if everything haunts them? These are the questions that stick like an echo from the past. On every page of Keller's Apparitions, day-to-day survival is visible.
