Wendy Hopkins is currently working towards her MFA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She is a Second City alumni, and a Dora Award, and Canadian Comedy Award nominee.

Wendy Hopkins is currently working towards her MFA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast Media at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. She is a Second City alumni, and a Dora Award, and Canadian Comedy Award nominee.

Her site specific play Pool Boy was produced by The Lost Angeles Theatre Company in 2021, and earned a place in the LA Times “Best Bet For Your Weekend.” Her 10 minute play, On The Way Out was produced and directed by Kristelle Zibara at Sydney Australia’s Short n’ Sweet festival in 2020.

As a writer for television, Wendy created and wrote the Canadian Comedy Award nominated FANCY for CBC; co- created the Gemini Award winning series,The Tournament, (“a rarity to be treasured” NYT); and wrote six original pilots including American Freak and Nature Boy (with Harland Williams) for Comedy Central. She has directed award winning television: Corner Gas, G- Spot, Lovingspoonfuls: and the documentary films Waitress and Behind the Wheel.

She lives in London, Los Angeles and on the road.

Isolated and desperate for human contact, she attempts to make a connection with an atypical Pool Boy. Despite their contrasting personalities and rusty social skills, they forge an unlikely bond in a Covid colored world.
