Originally trained as an acrobat in the former Soviet Republic of Kazakhstan, D.T. Burns returned to his homeland of the United States to pursue a career in theatre. He has worked in new play development with the Denver Center for Performing Arts, Local Theater Company, the Play On! project, the Boulder Fringe, and the Boulder Writers Warehouse. His plays have been performed at the Boulder International Fringe Festival, Boulder Arts Week, the Ft. Collins Fringe Festival, the GI60 Festival, and Rice University.
He is currently pursuing an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing at Carnegie Mellon University.
