Jonathan began writing after completing a two-year training course at Southampton's Nuffield Theatre (now known as MAST Mayflower Studios) in the UK where his teacher was John Burgess, the former Head of New Writing at the National Theatre in London.

Jonathan began writing after completing a two-year training course at Southampton's Nuffield Theatre (now known as MAST Mayflower Studios) in the UK where his teacher was John Burgess, the former Head of New Writing at the National Theatre in London.

Since completing his training Jonathan has written 60 plays, monologues, duologues, sketches and short pantomimes that have been performed in the UK and a number of other countries. 48 of his scripts have been published (mainly on-line). Jonathan particularly enjoys writing comedy/drama and fantasy/drama.

    An early draft of the play was longlisted for script development by the Traverse Theatre (Scotland’s premier new writing theatre) in 2021. This is the final, as yet unpublished, version of the script. Contains some adult themes and strong language.
