Jonathan began writing after completing a two-year training course at Southampton's Nuffield Theatre (now known as MAST Mayflower Studios) in the UK where his teacher was John Burgess, the former Head of New Writing at the National Theatre in London.

Since completing his training Jonathan has written over 50 plays, monologues, duologues, sketches and short pantomimes that have been performed in the UK and a number of other countries. The majority of his scripts have been published (mainly on-line). Jonathan particularly enjoys writing comedy/drama and fantasy/drama.
