  • Blunk
    23 Mar. 2024
"You construct elaborate rituals which allow you to touch the skin of other men."

The central sports-bar bros of Evan Baughfman's "Blunk" are on two different ends of one sort of ritual, possibly on its way to becoming another, and it is a humorous, homoerotic delight to behold! So much can be said beneath a look and a touch, and these two have a lot going on under the surface. A tight, one-minute comedy!
  • Boat Spotting
    21 Mar. 2024
Ugh, I cried! This is an incredibly tender romance that Dylan Horowitz has written, and if you’re a fan of summer love, queer or not, BOAT SPOTTING is a must-visit destination. Ash and Eden are adorable and relatable to anyone who’s struggled to step into the deep end, and anyone who has stood in the water waiting for their loved one to find the courage. A fabulous short play.
  • Tapping at the Window (In Development)
    18 Mar. 2024
What a powerful, resonant play! Amidst its own pandemic backdrop, Tapping At The Window tells of a time we would like to think we have moved beyond: a time of precariousness for women and particularly for anyone suffering from mental illness. Weaving poignant family drama with meditations on grief and guilt, Julie Zaffarano has created a skillful and emotional play that is sure to move audiences and provoke conversations.
  • ART-ificial Intelligence - A 5-Minute Play
    13 Mar. 2024
This sci-fi chiller has it all - except the answers the interviewer seeks most. In its place are moments of poetry, meditations on the present technological moment, and the tantalizing suggestion of something more lurking beneath the surface of its AI subject’s programming. With ART-IFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, Deb Cole uses the short form to get at an anxiety that ripples through humanity and will for years to come.
  • Safe Walk
    11 Mar. 2024
Tense, powerful, and unfortunately, a necessary conversation. Rebecca Kane stages a relevant and resonant drama between two strangers with a shared need for safety. "Safe Walk" should be required reading for college students, and everyone else.
  • CREAK
    1 Mar. 2024
They say nothing is scarier, but sometimes, the horrors of the modern world trump even the darkest conjurings of the mind. Chilling and charming, CREAK is a brief delight!
  • The Savior [a monologue]
    29 Feb. 2024
Poignant and powerful, The Savior is an immersive, heart wrenching monologue that will reach out and touch audiences. Steve Martin is a master of evoking emotion in the short form, and this piece is a fine example of his expertise.
  • Destiny is a Careless Waiter
    21 Feb. 2024
…And the waiter never checked on them once!

A romantic romp rife with misunderstandings, Destiny Is A Careless Waiter demonstrates Zaffarano’s skill with tight dialogue and balancing revelatory character moments with farcical switcheroos. Things don’t go quite as expected for either of the play’s couples, as their best laid plans go hilariously awry — I admire the humanity in this piece, alongside the hilarity.
  • Above the Fold
    21 Feb. 2024
With brisk dialogue, tense moral intrigue, and a lot to say about the ethics of journalism, Above The Fold is a period docudrama that uses its ripped-from-the-headlines premise to the fullest.

Playwright Julie Zaffarano nails the details of the workplace being described as well as her 1930s setting, crafting a play that takes place in a single room, but which nonetheless feels sprawling and compelling throughout. Excellent, well-researched work!
  • Hold My Hand (a one-minute play)

Brief. Chilling. Disarmingly effective. A perfect one-minute play. Bravo, John Busser!
