I am a professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where my research is focused on climate change adaptation in the far north. In my free time, in addition to enjoying adventures in the great outdoors, I write nonfiction, fiction, and plays. University of Alaska Press recently published "Go Play Outside! Tips, Tricks, and Tales from the Trails", a guidebook aimed at encouraging active young families. Three of my ten-minute plays have been selected selected for the Annual 8 X 10 Festival of Short Plays hosted by the Fairbanks Drama Association and The Looking Glass Group Theatre, and were performed at the Hap Ryder Riverfront Theater in Fairbanks, Alaska.
