I adored this play. York so very cleverly entwines science and the humanities, weaving two very different women (at first glance) into a line as intrinsic and (non)sensical as the DNA she speaks of. It is compelling. It is touching and funny. It is gut-punching and loving. I loved every moment of reading it.

This piece is, frankly, utter perfection. Its structure? Clever and compelling. Its characterization? Empathetic, witty, touching. Its discoveries and chronology? Goosebump-worthy. A stunning piece of feminist theatre.

Henry excels at balance. Her fluidity and pacing, her marriage of meditative and passionate, her tempo and drive, all lead to a play compelling in its exploration of grief, mourning, and the bravery required to move forward. I was pulled in from its first moments, and it held me until its last.

This play has stayed with me for months after my reading. Filled with poeticism, languid metaphor, and gut-punching prose, "Waterbearers" is a piece both fantastical and grounded. It is an unflinching view of history, of identity, of life, and it gives us just as much light as darkness. It haunts and holds in the best of ways.

"Founders, Keepers" is one to catch its audience beautifully off-guard. Lyrical and grounded, full of wit and empathy, alternating between the sharpest of bites and the deepest of laughs, Behlke has written a play of poignancy, query, and exploration. It is a must-read and a must-perform.

A poignant portrait of a complicated man. Set against a backdrop of cruelty and despair, "This Mortal Life Also" provides an exploration of morality, humanity, and identity in the face of deep crisis, all while providing a sense of love, learning, and hope for the future. A wonderful, timely piece.
