The rhythm of Woolley's dialogue works to brilliant effect in this intimate, thrilling play of estrangement and what comes after. The jagged, quick phrases betray so much feeling, the evasions often feel more meaningful than the words they don't say. A poignant and expertly written play that stings.

Satie et Cocteau is an irreverent, inventive play about the complex relationship between two great artists. There is an apt musicality to the dialogue and Czuba effortlessly interweaves ideas about reality, artifice, art, and love into this mesmerizing play. It's been a few years since I had the privilege of reading Satie et Cocteau, but I was inspired by it.

MacAlpine's grasp on the characters and the world they live in is absolute; you feel the characters and their connection to one another so intimately that the tragedy that follows is simply undeniable. I will rush to any theatre that puts on this epic pirate tragedy.
