Johnathan, a young poet struggles with finding himself as an artist and in his relationship to his friends, Jack and Emma. Jack is a playwright who tries to cope with the idea that success might not be the answer to his problems. Emma is a blossoming novelist and poet.

This non-linear plot follows key points in Adam Alman's life and relationship with father and grandfather. The play explores the intergenerational struggle between these three generations and their conflicting views on life, religion, their own relationships to each other, and the family secret that forces Adam to view his father in a new light.

Dan Bohemia, a director fallen from grace, has to run a rehearsal of a new play written (poorly) by Derek Smith. This quickly goes awry as Dan finds many problems with the script and the producer's expectations for it. Dan comes to learn that this is the least of his worries.
