Giuliano Ciabatta

Giuliano Ciabatta is an Italian born writer, composer, singer and actor.
Giuliano studied acting, art and music in Italy and completed the conservatory at “The Acting Studio” in New York City studing Meisner Technique, acting for the camera, commercial audition on camera and directing. He’s a member of “The Dramatist Guild” and attended many workshops developing new plays and new concepts for TV Pilot.
He has a wide art background as sound designer and as creative artist/digital audio-video producer. He has been a theater manager and senior sound engineer as part of the Carnival UK entertainment team, producing over 300 musical and cabaret shows for cruise ships, live concerts, plays and other theater performances. He has a wide art background as sound designer and as creative artist/digital audio-video producer. He has been a theater manager and senior sound engineer as part of the Carnival UK entertainment team, producing over 300 musical and cabaret shows for cruise ships, live concerts, plays and other theater performances. He wrote over 500 songs of various genres: pop, rock, folk, traditional, latin, dance, children’s music and musical theater. He’s been nationally rewarded as music producer to promote and preserve the Italian music traditional heritage.
Giuliano showcased, at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at Lincoln Center NY, the short musical THAT LOOK IN HER EYES written with librettist-lyricist Dennis Hanrahan for the “Across A Crowded Room”, a project sponsored by the New York Public Library.
Currently, Giuliano is working as composer and librettist with different collaborators developing his original musical concepts, CINEMA ITALIANO, 7 DAY BUBBLE and ITALIAN FOLK TALES. He also is composing songs for cabaret performers and soundtracks movie themes.
His original Italian plays and musicals include “L’AMORE AI TEMPI DEL VALZER” and “PUNTO COM” (with librettist-actor Giorgio Comaschi). He’s the producer/writer of longest running (over 15 years) puppet show in Italy “PINOCCHIO, LE AVVENTURE DI UN SOGNATORE” and “C’ERA UNA VOLTA… IL PICCOLO PRINCIPE” a musical for family - schools and a current illustrated book which has become an Amazon Bestseller in Italy. He wrote the music for the movie “TUTTO LISCIO” (featuring Ivano Marescotti and Maria Grazia Cucinotta). He designed the audio for the official tour “DISNEY PLAYHOUSE” in Italy.
He created Masterclasses on musical theater, collaborating with the Bernstein Musical Theater School (Bologna - Italy) and the Arts Club Vancouver Theater (Canada). Giuliano had a long collaboration as artist, songwriter and sound engineer with the iconic Italian singer Lucio Dalla. Giuliano is the lyricist and composer for the “Zecchino D’oro”, the most renowned Italian song contest for children (66 editions) broadcasted by R.A.I. Television.
During his career, he consulted, produced and wrote songs for international music companies such as Warner Chappell, Universal Music, Sony Music, Walt Disney and Peanuts.
He recently had a feature role in an American national commercial and documentary for the no-for profit organization “He Gets Us” broadcasted during the “Grammy Awards” and the “Super Bowl”. He has had parts, in non-speaking roles, in TV series including “And Just Like That”, “Billons”, “Dare Devil” and “Law & Order”, “Blue Bloods”, “Raising Kanan”.

Meet an unlikely triangle: Harry and his young wife Marjorie, and Kate, a freelance secretary with a long-held secret and a new Royal Upright...

Tensions reach a boil as dictation is given, the past is unpacked, and a wedding photo hints at the promise of everlasting love. This one-act musical, THAT LOOK IN HER EYES, is an adaptation of JM Barrie’s 1914 comedy, THE TWELVE-POUND LOOK.
THAT LOOK IN HER EYES was developed and performed at the ACROSS A CROWDED ROOM Festival at the New York Public Library of Performing Arts in November 2022.
