  • Max Kennel: SHOE SHOPPIN' GONE BAD - ONE MINUTE MONOLOGUE

An enjoyable monologue about intricacies of customer service and the Devil's feet as well as a useful piece for actors looking for a comedic monologue!

  • Max Kennel: The Apothecary

An awesomely ambiguous piece! Each line thoughtfully serves to move the story and intrigue forward. A wonderfully dark piece that leaves room for lots of hope at the end. I will be thinking about this play long after writing this recommendation.

  • Max Kennel: ANTI-RACIST FOOD CREATOR: AN INFLUENCER MONOLOGUE

A fascinating piece with a lot of compelling and rich nuances to dig into. To quote the Bachelor this Anti-Racist Food Creator is "not here for the right reasons". While the they advocate for things that everyone should advocate for such as Black Lives Matter, acknowledging white privilege, and fighting Asian Hate, said advocation is not their actual goal, it is treated as their channel's corporate aesthetic. An amazing dissection of performative allyship and an awesome piece for theatre professionals.

  • Max Kennel: world is a fuck

An awesome execution of a compelling premise! This piece moves and inspires through private and unapologetic contemplation between friends as they mourn the soul a mutual friend and who they used to be. Along with thoughtfully criticizing the world that killed said soul. A wonderful 10-minute play!

  • Max Kennel: The Frogs' Revenge

They say you are what you eat and the glutton wonderfully personifies this through their overindulgence and death-ribbits. A great bite-sized dosed of spooky season fun!

  • Max Kennel: Not Even the Girlfriend

A thought-provoking and awesome piece! The meta commentary Goldman-Sherman provides on the world of theatre and the type of roles accessible to women as a whole is conveyed incredibly in this one act. The monologue portion of the show was incredibly compelling and I will definitely recommend it to some of my friends the next time they are in need of a monologue. Amazing work!

  • Max Kennel: JAM

I have never been more invested in the fixing of a printer/copier. It's invigoratingly break-neck pace conveys within the shows read/runtime. The dynamics between the characters depending on the situation that surrounds them got me existential in the best way possible. An epic one-act play!

  • Max Kennel: Civics

A poignant and reflective yet comedic story about the hypocrisies present within the power dynamics of the United States immigration process. Gill's shift from the initial set of questions where Sunita knows more than The Man With The Power to his abuse of said power is incredibly effective. "Civics" is an amazing 10-minute play!

  • Max Kennel: Come Back Right

A hilarious gut-punch! Kantor juxtaposes the initially darkly comedic premise with an evocative dissection of trauma which makes each of these aspects stronger as a result and it does not waste a single line of it's 10 minutes.

  • Max Kennel: ¡O Cascadia!

This show was a grounded, yet surreal exploration of the human condition in relation to its environment and how it can free or constrict the desires of the heart and soul. Esquivel explores this through poignant scenes of emotional intimacy with the core cast in a way that delves into their sexualities, racial backgrounds, and how they deal with the aftermath COVID-19 pandemic that kept me gripped the whole way through. My day was made better by reading it and I will be thinking about it long after today.
