A grandfatherly ghost and his namesake female grandchild make a certain rural peace with post-Pandemic life's end, as representatives of the country's major institutions –- church, state, and commerce –- gather nearby to settle the climate crisis for good, their long-needed work neither far away in place nor time, for us the hope at last.

A female cast encounters America on an ancient feast day of 3 Wise Men. Our modern family, torn between personal wants and group demands representative of gold, frankincense and myrrh, pauses mid-struggle to recall our Anglo-American heritage: a British Sovereign gallops in on a kitchen-mop handle, an American Southwest jurist seeks her Supreme Court. They banter, “Where
might we best run free?” while awaiting a 3rd wise woman who won't show. Or does she, and we overlook the nature of her gift?

MORE - On a day of many Epiphanies (Jan. the 6th), a family of three women comes to terms with their household of order, and along with that their places in an evolving nation-state's culture and politic on a day of spiritual and political import. (NOTE: This began as a ten-minute play for an Essential Theatre, Atlanta, event.)

On a day of (in)famy, a prone-to-senior-moment Senator pontificates with a wiser-than-should-be Intern. Bricks through the window thrown, they alternate between addressing and ignoring modern-day realpolitik (guns, abortion, fiscal and border rights), the Senator entertaining their voting audience of one, while sheltered-in-place until an aptly named (and dressed) Patriot arrives. But as we know, even one vote rightly [scratch that] correctly cast can make all the difference, yeah, yeah? The Patriot here exacts the power of the people upon this occasion, but what exactly does that even mean in a world where age-old definitions, like civility, are lost past mutual recognition's understanding?

A Georgia family across generations of Fourths of July comes to terms with reminiscences. On a simple, rundown playground full of differing memories of personal and shared history, they ponder, Have we, too, as a nation of states of mind lost the childlike healing ability to joke, and play?

A retired teacher meets a former student, just retired, and they confront the ghosts of truth and trust at the local Post Office, soon to be closed, deep in the modern American South.

John in particular voiced abolitionist sentiment in his "Thoughts upon Slavery" pamphlet.
