Ryan Reed

Ryan Reed is an NH-born emerging playwright, screenwriter, and improviser currently pursuing his MFA in Playwriting at The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University. He made his NYC debut with his 10-minute play "Reggie & Jamie" (GrannyCart Theatre). His other playwriting credits include: "The Sandwich Project" (ASDS), "Easi Women" (ASDS), "Evolution" (EC Theater), and "I wanna love you, but I won't" (EC Theater). He has also written several short films, including: "The Director" (Writer/Co-Producer), "In Front Of A Live Studio Audience" (Writer/Co-Producer), and "Toothbrush" (Co-Written with Leah Bickley and Thomas James Boudreau). When not writing he can be seen performing improv, going to the movies, and suggesting to his friends to play Monopoly.

He is currently in development on several new projects, including a play based around 2017 Sonic Fan culture, a stage adaptation of "It's A Wonderful Life", and a play about a superhero who wears swim equipment.

He is currently based in Brooklyn, NY. He is also a member of the Dramatists Guild.

Synopsis

Reggie Matthews, the seemingly "popular" kid at school, is in desperate need to pass his upcoming Biology exam.-- And Jamie Collins, the seemingly "nerdy" loner at school, is in desperate need of finding some sort of friendship. When Reggie asks Jamie for help studying, she immediately takes this as an opportunity to find a friend. Jamie decides to court Reggie the only way her smart mind could muster up...
