Kailey Morand

Kailey Morand is a writer and performer whose words have been heard on both stage and screen in the Chicagoland area. She has been seen most recently at the Goodman Theatre, originating the role of Ruby in the world premiere of Karissa Murrell Myers’ Black Bear Island, and understudying for the recent revival of Inherit the Wind. Her play CRASHING IN received a workshop reading with Vertigo Productions at Northwestern University in February 2025. Her play sisterhood was developed and produced as a reading as part of Lovers & Madmen’s Adaptfest at Northwestern, a festival of new adaptations of classic works. However, life had other plans, and Jesse’s rejection of motherhood comes back to haunt her when Shane’s daughter Annalise shows up on her doorstep. Caretaking, addiction, and codependency entangle and unroot one another as life unravels before our eyes, in all of its iterations, all at once.
