The story unfolds in the hands of her daughter, Tâm, who leads us through the arc of their relationship from 1974 to 2018. As their memories begin to blur and their dreams begin to overlap, Tâm wrestles with her responsibility to her mother as they both experience assimilation and heartbreak.
