Kimberly Murray-Patel was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. She studied theater in Manhattan but dropped out before it went anywhere. She went on to marry, have children, and do all of the things women are expected to do to be considered successful. Kimberly avoided theater at all costs for about 15 years until she decided to offer some of her sewing talents to a local community theater. That was like opening Pandora's Box. From that decision she has costumed over 20 productions, most recently A Chorus Line at The Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts under the direction of Broadway legend Baayork Lee. She has no official degrees or awards, but is overcome with gratitude to have found a second chance to pursue her passion in theater and playwriting.
