Open Studio

Synopsis

In Open Studio, Maya, a young woman, decides to try her hand at pottery. In the studio she meets Joe---an older man who loves to chat (like a lot)---and Alan, the charming co-owner of the studio, who is kind of married. As she grows closer to both of them, Maya grapples with Joe's declining memory and finds herself entangled in the complex dynamics of this trio.

Motherf**king Girl Scouts is a play that imagines a version of girlhood free of shame. Camp counselors Jazmyn and Jia take an impulsive and unhinged group of young Girl Scouts on a camping trip they will never forget. On their journey, the Girl Scouts begrudgingly learn how to navigate the great joys and intense traumas of being a teenager, complete with motivational creatures popping out of the forest...

Instead, they actually use this time to hold meetings of their two-person Bruce Springsteen fan club. Together they grapple with the effects their religion has on their sexuality, desires, hopes, and dreams, all while obsessing over the Boss and dreaming of a better world they could...
