Angela Sarabia has been involved in theater her entire adult life. Ever since obtaining a minor in theater from the University of Florida, she has acted, directed, stage managed too many shows to count. She is currently the President of the Board of Directors of her local community theater. She is also an attorney who spent part of her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney where she handled both misdemeanor and felony cases. While there, Angela witnessed firsthand that violence is often used as a tool of manipulation against women. She noticed that when women are victims of violent crime, they display an extraordinary amount of grit, resilience, and courage. She channeled all of her experiences into her first play, Duress: An Original Thriller, which is a crime drama told from a female perspective.

    Anna, a mild-mannered accountant who has spent her entire life playing it safe, comes into the construction firm where she works on a Saturday and interrupts two brothers breaking in to steal cash from the safe. One of them is Derrick, a handsome, charismatic, hardened criminal who has recently convinced his awkward brother John to come along with him for the first time. As soon as Anna encounters the brothers, a desperate game of deception and manipulation begins. Anna’s very survival now depends on her taking incredible risks. She must draw on the difficult experiences of her past as well as her need to get home to loved ones who depend on her. Can she turn the brothers against each other before they crack the safe and no longer need her alive?
