Through the collapsing marriage of two academics in New York City, Real Estate explores the forces that allow some of us to remain connected, while others are pushed into social exile. Henry and Sandy are academics, brilliant but underpaid, and living with Sandy's rabble-rousing, Trump-hating activist mother. Deemed by the co-op board to be unworthy to inherit Henry's father's apartment, Henry and Sandy each struggle to find solace and a new home. A witty and sometimes absurd romp through the minutiae of inheriting and selling an apartment, Real Estate asks who is worthy of a roof over their head, and how the spaces we inhabit allow us to connect to others.
