Katherine Clair

Katherine is a Florida native and a graduate of the University of South Florida, with BA degrees in both theatre and creative writing and an MFA in Playwriting from the Catholic University of America. Most recently her short play See Cerberus Run was presented as part of Rorschach Theatre Company's Klecksography.
First Citizen, co-written with Anna Lathrop, was presented as part of Taffety Punk’s Generator Series and as part of WSC Avant Bard's Scripts in Play Reading Series. She was also a featured playwright with Theater Alliance’s Season 12 Hothouse New Play Development Series, developing her play Vivie Can Fly. Her other plays include #crazypants, Blinky’s Jubilee, Manna From Heaven, and Love Birds.
A member of the Dramatist Guild and a finalist for the Playwrights Center’s Core Fellowship, her plays have been seen in and around Tampa, Florida and in the DC area. Also an avid writer of poetry, prose, and screenplays, her short film Deer Doctor was screened at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

Katherine currently serves as the Program Coordinator for Shakespeare Theatre Company's Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University and as Associate Producer for Theater Alliance in Washington, DC. She is also the producer of the Hothouse New Play Development Series, focusing on the commission and development of new works by DC artists.
