CHETORI is a poignant, non-linear short play that explores the delicate construction of a relationship between a grieving teenager and his father’s Iranian partner. Through a series of fractured scenes, the play navigates the awkwardness of their initial meeting following the death of the boy’s mother—a loss complicated by resentment and unresolved trauma.

As the two characters grapple with their shared lack of Farsi, the language becomes a bridge for their developing bond. Moving from biting confrontations to quiet moments of linguistic discovery, the story traces their evolution from strangers to a chosen family, ultimately finding common ground in the simple, sincere question: "Chetori?" (How are you?).
