KJ Stewart is a playwright and clown based in Brooklyn, New York. They graduated with a BFA from NYU in 2020, having studied at Playwrights Horizons Theater School. Their work has been produced in various NYC theater spaces including The Tank and Wild Project as part of the Fresh Fruit Festival. Their short-form pieces have been published in the Stonecoast Review and The Coachella Review. Their most recent play, Choke, had a developmental staged reading produced by Trove Theater Company and will be part of the Rough Draft festival in Long Island City in March of 2025. In addition to writing plays, they enjoy clowning around on New York stages and making semi-functioning puppets.
