Amy Chen

Amy Chen (she/her) is a multidisciplinary theatre artist focused on performing and
playwriting. Amy holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from The University of the Arts.
Amy’s first play, “Esther’s Play About Esther’s Play”, was produced by the
Equinox New Play Festival as a part of the UArts 2023 MainStage Season. This
was followed by a self-produced staged reading of her second play, “Y.F.S.G.”, at
Yellow Bicycle Theatre in 2024. And most recently, the award-winning company,
Theatre By Development, chose Amy’s third play, “Unfuck Yourself,” for their
Short Play Festival entitled “Clippings.” As an actor, Amy has performed at
regional houses like Bristol Riverside Theatre, Timber Lake Playhouse,
Quintessence Theatre Group, The Media Theatre, and more.

Synopsis

Laine, Frances, and Celly are expecting a quiet night in until they realize their friend Vee has involved them in a dangerous plot. They have to figure out how to deal with Vee's radical ideas, a weird freaky neighbor man, and a mysterious composition notebook, all while dealing with the consequences of hot boxing under the covers.

Emma, Tilda, Marlon, Scarlett, Katherine, and Mickey are actors. Actors we all know and love. Actors who have something in common. They all did yellow face. In this play, fictionalized versions of these well known celebrities will come to learn about the dangers of yellow face in the main stream media through the vessel of a support group.
