“
A revealing story of the history of oppression in our nation and those who stand on either side. Well done. ”

“
This play speaks eloquently of those oppressed, their supporters and oppressors, but it does so with uniquely drawn characters whose urgent needs propel suspenseful action. Authentic details bring the historic moment to life, while interplay of language, song, gesture and props weave poetry into the story. I admire such a memorable script! ”

“
I initially saw this play as a staged reading at the Southern Writer's Project at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and then later I saw it as a fully staged production there. It is a complex, poetic show with incredibly enduring characters that linger in the audience's minds long after they go home. I count it among my favorite plays. ”
