Oh this rings so many bells for me as a creative! The 'tarnished' view that certain subjects have can do so much damage to a person but here Arianna has done brilliantly by making Marie a simply fabulous character by the end. Its a truth universally acknowledged that parents generally want the best for their children and sometimes that truth isn't what you first expected and isn't a 'traditional truth'. That's the wonderful moral that the writer has left the audience with here, as well as some wonderful laughing moments that will see smiles long after the curtain falls.
