Oh this rings so many bells for me as a creative! The 'tarnished' view that certain subjects have can do so much damage to a person but here Arianna has done brilliantly by making Marie a simply fabulous character by the end. Its a truth universally acknowledged that parents generally want the best for their children and sometimes that truth isn't what you first expected and isn't a 'traditional truth'. That's the wonderful moral that the writer has left the audience with here, as well as some wonderful laughing moments that will see smiles long after the curtain falls.

This play brought me right back to my childhood bedroom, being urged by my mom to have something to "fall back on." Arianna Rose packs a lot into these 3 pages, giving this sweet mom/daughter duo the chance to connect and celebrate finding their happy. So warm, so well done.

What a brilliant short play. I adore the moms horror at her daughter becoming a theatre major. Hits all the right notes for its subject matter. A delight! I highly recommend!

I’ve had similar conversations when telling family members I was going into acting. A beautiful family show and great dialogue that showcases a very real conversation many families have had and will continue to have.

Ah, yes, the dreaded “talk.” I reserved fondly telling my parents the truth about me. Ariana Rose has captures that moment brilliantly. This play provides a perfect snapshot of a theater artist in the making.

Giving a makeover to Barbie's dreamhouse through the power of crafting? Terry sounds like the kind of person I would've played with when I was a kid. Blame it on Barbie is a nice comedy that is so important for people going into the arts and their families.

Arianna Rose’s, Blame It On Barbie, is a delight from start to finish. In this short play she manages to create two totally believable characters (a mother and a daughter), an emotional conflict and a loving resolve. Who can’t relate to disappointing our parents at one time or another? Well crafted. Highly recommended!

Marie is SUCH a supportive mother. Until Terry tells her the big news. As a person who got a degree in theatre arts, I can definitely relate to this conversation. Hilarious and very true!

A pitch perfect short play about leaving the safety of your parent's house and heading off to college. The thing that touched me the most was the daughter's revelation about how maybe she developed her desire for the major she's switching to which reminds us all that children are like sponges and always watching us for guidance and for love..

A great, four-minute play about that transformational moment in a creative young woman’s life when she announces to the world, OK, to her mother, that she isn’t going to take the safe path in choosing her career, but rather, she will follow her bliss, wherever that leads. A poignant, play about a mother/daughter bond that is heartwarming to witness. You aced this, Arianna!
