Instead of finding peace, however, she finds herself caught in the crossfire between fellow participants, pious Elena and rebellious Hana. They both promise Ida their own version of salvation, but lo and behold this salvation comes at a cost. The question is what price is Idalia willing to pay? And this is totally random, but does God care about premarital sex, I mean s-e-x? (Asking for a friend).

A play full of fabulous roles for Latinx actors. This play went places I really didn't expect but I was glad to be on the ride. Really important conversations happening about sexuality and religion.

Kinda want an act two! But appreciate that because Asexuality as an identity has become more visible that there can be conversations about the many ways people are sexless with more compassion. And in that space conversations about sexuality, religion, and reclaiming language. Arreola gives us clues as to Rosa and Lucy's relationship. Actually, it's quite clear without being in your face. Lucy is, in the present day, like a ghost I was dying to meet. I was also interested in the questioning of what is abstinence exactly --The whole basis of a group rooted in something grey!

ELENA (she/her) - 16, Chicana. Intense, very committed to what she believes in. A bit lonely. A leader.
HANA (she/her) - 17, Chicana. Can match Elena’s intensity, similar to Elena in that way. A baby feminist. Outspoken.
IDALIA (she/her) - 16, Chicana. Still trying to figure things out. Very inquisitive, not afraid to ask questions. YANET’s cousin.
