The Green Room

What happens when a playwright creates a character and doesn't write them into a script?
In "The Green Room," a diverse quartet of characters find themselves trapped in the liminal space of a Green Room. In "The Green Room," a diverse quartet of characters find themselves trapped in the liminal space of a Green Room. With time to kill before their destinies are inked into existence, a lesbian suffragist from 1912, a caffeine-fueled female executive from the 1980s, a free-spirited hippy chick from the 1960s, and a non-binary Gen Z’er from the 21st century engage in introspective and humorous dialogue. They debate their designed arcs, questioning stereotypes and the evolution of societal roles. United by anticipation and uncertainty, they confront their identities and challenge the playwright's intentions.

Very clever comedy where women of different eras get together to create their own script. This play has a lot of juicy roles for different types of female characters. Would be a nice addition to a woman's festival.

In "The Greenroom," playwright Rene Zabel crafts a delightful romp through time and character arcs. It’s like ‘Friends’ meets ‘Doctor Who’ with a dash of existential crisis. The witty banter and kaleidoscope of eras make this play a must-read!

This is a small play bursting at the seams with powerful femme characters that deserve to get out! And their strong group dynamic of mutual protests (for different causes) bring them together for their own cause, to be heard! This would be visually entertaining to see as well, with the multiple era costumes and watching the characters come together as a united front against invisibility. They will no longer be invisible to the author, nor the rest of the world!
