  • A Tragedy Of Owls
    22 Feb. 2024
We produced an audio version of this script in our Season 4 line-up (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e5). This script is a fascinating character study and John Mabey thoroughly did his part in bringing this real life event to the page. He took this historically documented moment and sculpted believable dialogue for these two characters in a remarkable way. Mabey is a master of his craft and did a wonderful job honoring Willem's plea "Let it be known".
  • Playing With Dolls
    21 Feb. 2024
We produced an audio play version of this script in our Season 4 line-up (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e4). John Mabey has an uncanny ability to tackle important topics in his plays that keep you thinking after you're finished reading. "Playing with Dolls" addresses gender stereotypes and racial identity within a story about two strangers connecting to exchange toy dolls for their kids. The beauty of this script also comes from the small glimpse we get of this meeting of men which will surely develop into a friendship between the two strangers. Highly recommended for reading or producing!
  • Hugo Saves Christmas...in May!
    8 Feb. 2024
We produced an audio play version of this script on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e2). Hayet has built a story filled with nostalgia, humor, and tenacity. Hugo's passion for holding on to Christmas year round is the perfect contrast to the opposing character, Maya, and Hayet unfolds the story in such a way that you are pulling for both of them. And just like the year round Christmas Store in this script, this is a play that you don't have to wait for the holiday season to produce. It's relevant year round!
  • A Monogamy of Swans
    5 Feb. 2024
We had the privilege of producing this script as an audio play on the Gather by the Ghost Light podcast (https://www.gatherbytheghostlight.com/s4e1). In this play, Minigan gives us believable characters that you can 100% feel their connection the more they speak to each other. His use of a true site specific location backed up by the history of the two local swans, Romeo and Juliet, is such a creative touch that adds even more realism to this work of beautiful fiction. Highly recommended for any theatres wanting to produce thoughtful romantic comedies that will touch your heart!
