  • THE ONE ABOUT THE HAMSTER (co-written with Hugh Brinkley)
    2 Jul. 2020
THE ONE ABOUT THE HAMSTER was selected as a semifinalist for our IMPOSSIBLE FEST 2020.

This whirlwind of a script will keep audiences howling. It's got just about everything you could ask for in a script - existential crises, characters that alternate between highly relatable and off-the-wall, and a hamster. Half the fun of the play is trying to keep up with Gary, and the other half is just strapping in and holding on while he takes you on a roller coaster.

With exciting technical challenges galore, this play is certain to entertain audiences of all ages.
  • SH*T TRAIN
    27 Jun. 2020
SH*T TRAIN was a semifinalist for our IMPOSSIBLE FEST 2020.

Laser-fast paced and biting, SH*T TRAIN will send your head spinning with its quick and stunning assessment of the working world. You'll not know whether to laugh or scream the whole way through, and the dialogue is almost Pinteresque - you'd call it absurd if it didn't ring so true.

With several moments of impossibility to mine, SH*T TRAIN will provide any company an exciting and hilarious production.
  • Big Black Giraffe
    27 Jun. 2020
BIG BLACK GIRAFFE was selected as a semifinalist for our IMPOSSIBLE FEST 2020.

In just a few short minutes, BIG BLACK GIRAFFE takes its audience on a whirlwind of a journey. As one person prepares for the end of the world, he has to contend with his partner who simply won't believe it until she sees it - and boy does she ever see it.

With a call for a big black giraffe (and we mean BIG), along with other impossibilities, BIG BLACK GIRAFFE provides ample opportunity for a huge spectacle of a show.
  • Fittest
    27 Jun. 2020
FITTEST was selected as a semi-finalist for our IMPOSSIBLE FEST 2020.

An absurd and sprightly romp through the sometimes-terrifying world of digital apps, FITTEST skewers our time's obsession with get-fit competition. The characters seem to leap off the page with their convictions and drive. This play is the sort that leaves you baffled and delighted at every line - and leaves you wanting to hear the next thing.

Written with some fantastically impossible directions - including the uploading of a human consciousness?! - FITTEST will give any theatre a wonderful, thrilling challenge to produce.
  • Unbelievable
    20 May. 2020
UNBELIEVABLE was selected as a semifinalist for our Impossible Fest 2020.

Set at the outbreak of some sort of apocalypse, UNBELIEVABLE is a slice of life portrait of life before everything changes. With the perfect amount of information vs. mystery, Cathro draws us into a world that could easily be our own, balancing the scary with the relatable.

With a plethora of technical challenges that offer a variety of exciting possibilities (zombie tigers, anyone?), UNBELIEVABLE is a captivating look at how people might deal with the unthinkable - and offers that glimmer of hope we look for.
  • Hot Gecko Space Love Action (Based on a true story): A Ten-Minute Play
    4 May. 2020
HOT GECKO SPACE LOVE ACTION was selected as a semifinalist for our Impossible Fest 2020.

This play is bonkers in the best sort of way. If you've ever wondered what two small lizards, hurled into space to find out how zero-gravity impacts their lovemaking, would do when faced with potential death at the hands of lusty Russian scientists... well, then this play probably won't answer your questions - but it'll certainly take you on a wild trip into outer space.

This play presents so many wonderful technical challenges and excitements - and riotous laughs the whole way through.
  • Bottle Episode
    28 Apr. 2020
BOTTLE EPISODE was selected as a semifinalist for our Impossible Fest 2020.

BOTTLE EPISODE is a soft and poignant meditation on time, usefulness, and purpose in which the characters speak simple truths to each other. The sun dances across the sky (literally), bringing both conversation and ultimate dread to our lead character - a discarded bottle. Along the way, a bird and the wind stop by to provide company, if not comfort.

Deceptively simple stage directions elevate this play into a technically challenging dreamland. BOTTLE EPISODE is certain to delight audiences with its gentle and subtle production.
  • The Boat Called 16
    23 Apr. 2020
SOMEONE was selected as a semifinalist for our Impossible Fest 2020.

This play is wonderfully deep examination of women and how society views them. Led by a powerful and complex "No One," Goldman-Sherman deftly - and often humorously - dissects the lead character's place in society. Pressures, expectations, and individual desires are all bounced around the satirically-named No One and Doll's entrances as they wash dishes.

With an added layer of meta-theatrics that calls even the theatre-making itself into question, SOMEONE is a thought provoking and insightful work.
  • Time's Up
    21 Apr. 2020
TIME'S UP was selected as a semifinalist for our Impossible Fest 2020.

A bright and strident play, TIME'S UP holds nothing back as it tackles women's empowerment. The dialogue clips at a wonderfully breakneck pace, allowing Roberts' comic timing to shine. The play is a strong farce, asking us to laugh lest we cry at the issues presented.

An added bonus is Gloria Steinem on a skateboard - does it get better than that? Incredibly theatrical and full of laughs, TIME'S UP is a raucous and bubbly piece of theatre.
  • SUBMARINE
    14 Apr. 2020
SUBMARINE was selected as a semi-finalist for our Impossible Fest 2020.

Haller has mastered how to up stakes in a play. In SUBMARINE, a taut conversation about dreams, goals, and hopefulness takes a tragic turn to heighten the tension. This is the kind of play that goes from 0 - 60 in two pages flat, and doesn't let up on the gas pedal until the end - and even then leaves the audience gasping for breath.

Add to the great writing a technical feat that can only be described as fantastically impossible, and you have an exciting and riveting script.
