A hilarious play in the middle of an apocalypse filled with a mix of witchcraft and work references that is so creative and funny. Well done.

This was my introduction to the very talented and gifted playwright Rachael Carnes and I was very lucky to be able to see this read at the Inge Festival in 2018. It has all those items that make her works a joy to read and see. And then there's the gift she's given to the the playwright community in addition to her talents as a writer. If you haven't read a Carnes play yet, do yourself a very big favor by doing that today!

A zany and fun little comedic gem. Carnes' bright language and sense of play is on display here in a delightful way! The play is a little great commentary on how The Important Men in charge are still barely doing anything. This play is hurting for a group of game and goofy actors to attack it.

A delightfully absurd and insightful take on the sad/comical current state of affairs in our society. Carnes's imagination juxtaposes Viking-like rulers with corporate office politics to show how even over a thousand years later not much as changed.

Hilarious, imaginative, weird, and wonderful -- FUMBLEWINTER is a must-read for anyone who has ever tried to run a meeting in corporate American; this play gave me some serious, nightmarish flashbacks. Great fun for designers and audiences alike. I can't wait to see this at the Inge festival!

The anachronisms in this hilarious play (Vikings doing PowerPoints and tweeting during a tribal meeting) are chilling in how they sadly show how little things have changed in our world and how things like gender roles and the way we view the world may seem primitive, but are fully present today. So much fun for actors and audiences alike - I would love to see this performed.

Equal parts Monty Python and The Office, “Fumblewinter” is an absurd, laugh riot. Audiences watching (participating in!) this play will bear witness to the most simple-minded/back-woods yet technologically advanced (and yes, inept with it all,) Viking tribe the world has ever seen. We’re reminded that even with all the tech and information at its fingertips, civilizations are capable of doing some really stupid things. Easy for us to laugh at these Icelanders, but Carnes is holding the mirror up to us. The play is a mega playground for character actors... and they’re in for a treat.
