When the powers that be, whomever they are, decide your time is up, it's up. You either accept it or kick up a fight. But what if it's the biggest job ever?
Joe presents us this scenario as New comes in to replace old, you can't help feel sorry for God, he (or her) has been in the position for billions of years, it's hard to let go. I do hope they get to enjoy their retirement on Eros.

Delightful! A witty approach to the power dynamics of deities. Very well crafted characters in a humorous, yet believable, omnipotent scene.

An idea whose time has come. No one wants to be sidelined, but Swenson handles this particular changeover with a compassion and style.

So smart and clever while being so thoroughly silly. Easy to produce comedy that will certainly entertain your audience.

Fun and thought-provoking, Swenson brings the laughs as its time for God to get fired, but then leaves us with some divine (forgive me) commentary on religion, worship, and belief, how they all intertwine, and how they change over time. It’s always lovely to see pieces that deal with faith in a way that doesn’t feel like propaganda, but it’s particularly lovely to see a piece that addresses religious extremism’s place in war, and how much of that extremism comes about from folks simply unwilling to keep an open mind.

I love satire, I love metaphysics, I love funny, and playwright Joe Swenson knocked the ball out of the park (or the God off the throne) with all three! Alpha Omega Incorporated is clever, thought-provoking, and thoroughly entertaining. I hope to see this performed very soon, as it should be!

I love this. In this short play, the God of Earth is told he's being reassigned to Eros. I especially loved the exchange about dinosaurs, but there is so much clever writing here that it's hard to chose a favorite part. This is smart satire about a God who isn't evolving as quickly as the humans he's in charge of, and it ends with a very funny and satisfying button. This is one tight, entertaining short that will leave you thinking long after it's over.

Heaven needs "a new protocol" and God needs to be "relieved" of His duties, it seems. (Out with the old!) Joe Swenson's satire crackles with all the right corporate-speak and business buzzwords yet unearths some sobering revelations. What a clever, well-written slice of (cubicle) life!
