    “ The play beautifully states the fears and anxieties of new parents: babies are flesh and blood, yes. But they are also tiny, super-delicate and maybe made of glass? Love is woven throughout. I loved the sly remarks about a man's strength versus a woman's. The fear of the mistakes that will be made parenting rings so true. So much happens in this short play and it all strikes home and to the heart. ”

    “ How is it possible that I have tears in my eyes after 7 pages??? Bykowski has such a strong, unique voice -- I could read this play blind and know it was hers. These characters leap from the page and make you want to touch them. FLESH, BLOOD, & GLASS gives us a simple and beautiful metaphor for the anxiety of parenthood, but Bykowski doubles down by weaving in male privilege and male suppositions about the strength of a woman's body. I love this freaking play. ”

I enjoyed the specifics of fathers and daughters, but also felt so much resonance to the same fear I felt before my children were born, that as parents we're inevitably going to fuck up.
