I recently saw this play in a beautiful production at Boston Court Pasadena. I found it poetic, and yet surprisingly grounded. I highly recommend it.

Was fortunate to see a workshop production of this play and it's classic EM Lewis--lyrical, theatrical, and personal. Lewis knows how to distill humanity to its essence, and she does it beautifully here while also imbuing the experience with gorgeous language and symbolism. It opens in LA soon, but let's hope it keeps moving!

The author has an extraordinary gift of language, while also managing a very creative, theatrical sensibility. This would be a memorable night of theatre.

HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN is an uplifting take on loneliness and the positive consequences that happen when you tie yourself to the strangers around you. Lovely story.

Profoundly charming, profoundly heartbreaking, profoundly uplifting. A treasure indeed.

I attended a reading of this play in January 2018 that I find myself still thinking about a year later. This play is human, poetic, devastating, and hopeful. It's a small treasure.
