A brilliant calling out of sexism and discrimination with 1950s policies on a working woman. Bravo!

ALL. OF. THIS. What a brilliant monologue for a powerful and feisty woman. A winning piece of writing that captures the post-partum experience and champions it.

'I’m lactating, for God’s sake, like a prized Jabba-the-Hutt-pig at State Fair, and I don’t have the
time to pump after work because I’m changing diapers, rocking the baby around and around and
around and..., dealing with my husband’s mother who’s living with us because she’s an energy
    vampire'

hahahahaha so great. just a masterful piece of writing.

Brilliant piece about a "take no prisoners" employee who is rightly steamed when she finds she is being shunted into obscurity after returning from maternity leave. Renata is one of those unforgettable characters whom you root for from line one—and it's so satisfying to see her get her revenge on her sneaky boss. Go, Renata, and go Asher Wyndham for such a wonderful monologue!

Asher Wyndham is a master of his craft. Nobody does the monologue/One person show better than him. I need you all to start noticing and reading him. You will learn and your craft will be better for it. RENATA is no exception.

I would not cross Renata if I were you. Another solid monologue capturing someone sticking up for themselves and pointing out social wrongs and stigmas. I could read these all day, which is good because Wyndham seems to have a plethora of them.

This is an enthralling monologue. Renata has grit and spunk and speaks her truth. There is a powerful rhythm to her speech which reads like urban poetry. A great role for women.

Wyndham seriously has a gift for writing strong women--and Renata might be one of his strongest yet. This is one woman you don't want to mess with. Renata jumps off the page with her barely concealed foul mouth and her rage and her description of her birth is absolutely hilarious. This would be a great monologue for auditions because Renata is FIERCE. Thank you for bravely tackling a really important issue, Wyndham, and may Renata yell at sexist men all over the world and unleash her FEMININE FURY for all to behold!

This monologue has a lot of truth in it that any woman can relate to whether they have gone through the process of motherhood or not. It is reflective of treatment that could be in any city in the United States or in another country with a similar system in regards to maternity leave. The imagery throughout this play is very vivid and connects to the reader especially with the conclusion of a lot of pop culture references. The dialogue has its own rhythm that I feel makes the character very realistic. You want her to succeed.
