I love this piece for a young actor! It shows a confident student who can see a clear future for themself and doesn't need to fit into the neat little boxes schools expect you to fit into. Very inspirational and funny at the same time! A great piece to show a strong character for a young performer.

A great testimony on the fact that there isn't only one path for children as there are a lot of jobs we overlook which provide good livings. Well done.

A fabulous monologue for a feisty young lady. As always, Wyndham isn't just writing monologues to give kids something to do--he's giving them something important to say. He brings up some really good points in this piece about how kids are starting to get wise to the mistakes that their parents have made. I can see this piece being incredibly empowering for a young woman. We need more monologues like this!

The themes in this monologue encompass huge truths about our educational system. But it doesn’t preach. Put in the perspective of a middle-schooler, Alyssa has observed and learned and is doing exactly what preteens are want to do - she is figuring out stuff for herself. Her conclusions are spot-on and believable. Wyndham’s ear for dialogue in this age group is pitch-perfect. A young actress could relate to this and shine in competition.

Damn, this play is smart and funny with a kick of reality that bites. As a school teacher I can say this is something I face when talking to students about their futures and Asher really hits the nail on the head in voice and tone. I'd love to bring this into my student acting class!
