I love the situations Sharai Bohannon puts her characters into and "The Great Steven Stravinsky" is no exception. The combination magic show-birthday party offers so many opportunities to advance the plot, challenge the characters and charm the audience. Bohannon takes advantage of all of them in this heartwarming coming-of-age tale.

Aw! "The Great Steven Stravinsky" is so freaking adorable and sweet and charming and funny! And despite it being a play for kids, it has some adult moments that parents in the audience would really appreciate and enjoy. Looking forward to reading more works by Sharai Bohannon.

My heart leaps! Bohannon sets up so many great opportunities for the thing we want to happen to happen, and then it gets interrupted, just like life! This is a wonderfully exhilarating play! In terms of kisses, I think Bohannon gives Weaver a run for his money. Or maybe there should be a festival of kissing plays!!! That would be amazing! Produce this everywhere and spread the joy!

A really fun and sweet play for kids. The characters are innocent enough to let slip details throughout that build up the story without putting too much weight behind it and Travis and Steven's relationship is so familiar to anyone with siblings.

A very fun magic show that brings the joy of first kisses and growing up. Well done!

A very honest funny as hell coming of age story that feels precise and personal.

I absolutely love this play for young actors--but it would also be a ton of fun to see adults play these roles. The kids are full of energy, and written with an incredibly honest touch. Bohannon's plays just sparkle with personality and life, joy and vigor. You know you're reading a Bohannon play because the characters jump off the page and demand that you listen to them. By the end of ten pages, I was fully invested in each character--and the ending was everything I wanted. Bohannon is one to watch.

This play is so magical and and awfully funny! All the characters are so well drawn, it sounds very similar to when my kids do their magic tricks/fight. I was rooting for all the characters for sure, they're so well drawn, but the little brother, Travis, totally steals this play. Read and produce this play!

Magic and a first kiss bring enchantment. The magic doesn’t always go well and the kiss is an iffy proposition - at first. Bohannon captures the growing pains, the innocence and the wonder of this preteen couple. The addition of a younger sibling adds some chaos and conflict to both the kiss and the magic. It’s a charmer. I would love to see the different nuances between using adult actors versus young performers. Each cast would bring something different to the table.

Delightful, charged with energy and action. So refreshing to see and hear roles for children that carry weight and substance while still slinging zingers! Good guffaws throughout as tempers and tensions rise. This play works on many levels and would be a great showcase for young talent. And Bohannon does NOT disappoint the Potter fans!!! Where's my cape??
